Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections.

Hey guys, do catch The Blind Side! It’s actually a feel good movie, based on a true story of  Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman  and her family.Caught it with Felise and err, teared quite a bit. Personally, I found it very touching. (:

And before I go, HAPPY CNY everyone! :D

Decide what you want. And decide what you’re willing to exchange it for.

The key word for my new year resolutions is:

2009.

With Nic & Cassy cat @ YEP

2009 has given me a little peek to life, showing how vulnerable yet uplifting it can be at times.

Truth be told, the year started on a pretty bad note for my family and I. Our whole family got dengue and ended up hospitalised for a few days. My mum and I shared the same ward, while my bro and dad shared the adjacent one, haha I just realised how convenient it was for the nurses. Spent the Lunar New Year feeling all feverish and missed out on all the fun.(But I still got my red packets though, hee.)

After missing out on quite a fair bit in school and trainings in zonals, I went back feeling kind of lost. Didn’t really know what to catch up on or expect ): But thankfully, there were friends who helped me with whatever I was lagging behind. Really appreciate it! Haha, and yes I did looked like some swollen tomato from all the dengue rashes! Those rashes kept me itching the entire day. Oh and that burst blood vessel behind my left eye scared me! The blur vision confused me in thinking I wore the wrong pair of glasses. After the dengue scare, I somehow became more aware of those dengue advertisements on tv and buses? haha.

But things did turn for the better in the later half year :D   Had a lot of fun with the class in interclass games and captain ball in p.e (haha, while Mr Ang is always busy with his admin stuffs) where a few of us always ended up running late for bio lessons :/ And finally there were loads of volleyball ( on monday mornings) and mugging before eoys!

Then the BSP trip to China, HCL O levels and class outings all breezed by! Ahh, time really flies. This holiday has been packed with trainings, trip to China and gatherings with friends! :D Discovered a lot more about trainings too, esp after coach talked to us on Tuesday. It just dawned upon me how much I had missed the past years. Haven’t been able to get work experience but I ‘m glad to have spent some time doodling stuffs and catching up on my readings all these while.

Haven’t been really cherishing time & everything the past 2 years. I hope I will be more mindful of blessings in the year to come (:  And thank you family and friends who have been such wonderful gifts to me! ( Will miss 4L loads too! )

& yea, Happy New Year everyone! (:

Back home!

December 25, 2009

I’m back from my 2nd China Trip ( um, about a week ago)! Spent about 8 days there with 2 families in Beijing. We ate alot- about 8 ducks and loads of broccoli (: Despite the clear weather, it was really cold!  Minus 6 on our last day! We wore at least 3 layers of clothing plus heat packs.

13 of us, on the Great Wall. Haha, was already panting after a few flight of stairs. Ah, and really cold!

One of the many beautiful sights

Outside the Birdnest stadium

Bin Tang Hu Lu :D

All the kids :D Lol, & I’m the oldest.

(Don’t count my mum whose head is popping in from the right)

军度山滑雪场:Our ski resort place! Can’t see our chalet from here.. but this place is huge. There’s the area for beginners, intermediate and the experts. We all fell down many times while learning!

Russell  (He learns really fast!)

See? Haha, so steady.

Played poker cards at night. Spent 4 days 3 nights there.

Eat, sleep, play. Eat, sleep, play.

Took a cable car up to the cafe on highest mountain at the resort. Scary heights.

Here’s the breathtaking view from the top!

Inside the cafe :D

Played table soccer while waiting for our food. Ryan even broke the handles T.T

The cafe was so high up that even the  sandwiches we ordered had to be brought up from the bottom on a cable car!

We tried out pottery on our last day in Beijing (:

Ryan’s 福娃 looks demonic.

Random picture, but here’s my good-looking Dad!

Do we look alike? :D

Ate so much in China that I can feel myself moving so much slower on the court :O & Guess what, I’m still going to eat more on our cruise trip later on! T.T

AHHH, GLUTTON ME.

Since he proved it possible.

Class with 连老师 and Mrs Chu! Thanks for all the memories, L! Love y’all. Hopefully, we’ll still meet each other often in school next year. :D

Haha, being random: This was my breakfast in China. This amount. But yum yum yummm. I miss the Nanjing duck, xiaolongbao and their packet milk/ yoghurt drink!

Our buddies, with Kewei, Gen and 小朋友:D

I’m currently reading Roses are red by James Patterson. ( it’s a story starring detective Alex Cross) Haha, and the 2nd book is Violets are blue.  (:

Okay, my current goal: To master 滚翻. The bruises will then be worth it!
